Roger Dubuis Sympathie Chronograph S34 56 5
Roger Dubuis today has very little to do with the watchmaker himself but when he created the Sympathie collection, you see a genuine reflection of the man himself.
The S34 Chronograph presented today is one of the earlier pieces created by the legendary watchmaker, before Roger Dubuis became a Richemont owned brand name in 2008. Between 1995 and 2000, Roger Dubuis produced only 28 of these watches. For each variant in the series, there were no more than 28 made.
The design of the Chronograph has a gloss-dial and applied Breguet numerals. The polished surfaces and black-printed detailing contrast well against the Ivory dial.
The feuilles hands are rose gold, with two matching blued hands for the chronograph and 30-minute register. The 34mm square case features an array of polished and brushed surfaces, with a stepped-bezel, polished lugs and over-sized screw attachments. The beauty and complexity of the movement is revealed through an engraved sapphire case-back, powered by the calibre RD56 that is based on the Lemania 2310, like the Patek Philippe 5070 or even like the Vacheron Constantin 47101.
The watch bears the Seal of Geneva and was regulated by Roger Dubuis himself. At the time of production, it was mainly Patek Philippe movements that carried the Seal of Geneva. That is why Mr Dubuis felt it was crucial to have the same hallmark.
This Roger Dubuis Sympathie Chronograph S34 is accompanied by a rare complete set. Box, papers, poincon de Genève, manual, second caseback and Gevena seal tag.
The S34 Chronograph today are highly collectables and you rarely see one for sale. Most interesting is the 34mm case wears larger due to its shape.
