Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Large Duoface

One of the most distinctive timepieces from Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Reverso is the result of a legendary origin story involving British Army Officers’ need for a watch that can withstand a challenge. The name of this timepiece comes from its innovative reversing case, which the Grande Maison created in the 1930s to offer the British Army Officers a watch that was at the same time elegant and durable. When turned, the case either reveals an alternative watch face or a beautiful, protective cover. The Reverso has since evolved into an icon of both style and watchmaking ingenuity.

The elegant and refined steel Reverso Classic Large Duoface exerts its charm through two dials and two time zones, driven by a single automatic movement. On the front of the watch, the dial displays the Reverso's emblematic features: Arabic numerals, baton-shaped hands, "railtrack" minute circle, and an elegant day/night indicator that tells whether it is day-time or night-time in the country of reference. On the back of the watch, the reference time is presented on a black dial with a "Clous de Paris" finish, against which the large hour markers stand out and are arranged in the shape of the sun's rays. 

The Reverso comes in its full set, box, papers and manual. It is fitted on a grainé calf strap but the original Jaeger-LeCoultre alligator strap is unworn and included as well.
