Horween Shell Cordovan
Horween Shell Cordovan by Mr Watchley find its origins in Chicago, made in France. It is a highly exclusive leather crafted at the Horween Tannery and trademarked by five generations for the last 115 years: an equine leather, stemming from the rump. It takes up to six months for the leather to have its lustrous finish, obtained by natural hand dying and glazing.
Before that the irregular shells of the Shell Cordovan, known for its tight membrane, lacking a grain structure, are hot stuffed, shaved and polished as well as vegetably tanned – using bark extracts. The result is a leather as smooth as crystal, softening over time with a subtle change of colour. It doesn’t get much fancier on the wrist.
