Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 - US Special Edition - 100 pieces only

It's no secret that the Reverso Ultra Thin collection is one of the most collectable Reverso's out there. Its the Reverso that connect the best with its past. But did you know they made a special edition?

As the 1931 Reverso from Jaeger-LeCoultre turned 80 in 2011, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a limited edition version of the classic watch for the US markets only. This special edition retains the exact same dimensions as the standard model but has a few distinguishing traits.

A darker patina on the hands and markers, it has (compared to the regular version) the original typeface for the “Reverso” font, point tip hands and a custom made and hand sewn leather strap created by the Argentina-based Fagliano family who specialise in making polo boots. For this special edition only, the straps was stamped with the text “1931-2011”

Only 100 pieces of the Reverso US Edition have been manufactured and was only sold through JLC US boutique.

It is one thing to find this rare example but to find one with the original, untouched, unworn strap is not something I will find in the near future. And after a quick search, this is the only one for sale at the moment on the net. 

The Tribute to 1931 Reverso is the ultimate Reverso, whether it be this special edition with hand-made strap or the standard 1931. It is what will keep fans coming to JLC for years to come.
